The many words of Mimi

Over the past few weeks Mimi has become very adept with the English language. She has really had a broad understanding of many words and phrases but now she is actually using them and in the right context. She also is repeating pretty much everything that everyone says and that has its pitfalls.Michael even tests her knowlege by giving her several requests or commands at one time to see if she understands what he is saying. She says on and off, up and down,snow,boots, car, hot,bath,hat,cold, ball,pee wee. Which brings us to her obsession with Pee Wee Herman. We had an old Pee Wee Christams special video from when Paulina was little.

Mimi is obsessed with it and wants to watch it all of the time. In fact, Mimi's first words every morning are Pee Wee.

The show has a strange array of guests from Dinah Shore, Grace Jones and KD Lang to Charo and Annette Funicello. She watches and dances and claps and begs for me to start it again when it is finished. WE are all a little tired of Pee Wee so I limit her viewing to once a day. She even sleeps with the video cover, and she can identify all of the guests and characters.

Aunt Vicki gave Mimi a little electronic game by leapfrog that teaches the alphabet and word building. It is magnetic and attaches to the fridge so Mimi stands in front of the fridge and pushes the button to listen to the alphabet song. I will sing all of the song and when we get to W,X there is a pause and she yells out Y and that is it, she is finished with her part of the song. At the age of 5 I thought LMNOP was one letter, so the kid is doing quite well in my book. I believe she is a genius.
